Spoiler alert! This story contains details from “The Masked Singer” Season 1, Episode 5, including the identity of the eliminated celebrity.
Another masked singer bites the dust.
Four competitors – Rabbit, Alien, Unicorn and Lion – hit the stage Wednesday, trying to muddy the waters with their clues as the judges tried to guess “The Masked Singer.”
The competition got real with Rabbit, who said in his clues, “My range is part of my master plan to throw you off. … I’m a trickster.”
He performed the R&B hit “Poison,” by Bell Biv DeVoe, and had the judges dancing along. When it came time for their comments, Nicole Scherzinger told Rabbit, “You are my favorite performer out of everyone on the entire show.”
Starting with this episode, producers added a new clue to the mix. Each performer provided a “revealing item” that was unveiled to give the judges something else to mull. Rabbit’s was a magician’s kit.

Judge Ken Jeong said, “This show is messing with my mind” before observing Rabbit sounded like someone from an ’80s boy band, saying to judge Jenny McCarthy, “Maybe it’s your hubby (Donnie Wahalberg, who was in New Kids on the Block back in the day).” McCarthy countered with a guess of Zac Brown.
Unicorn was up next, giving clues that included “craft,” “cartwheel,” and the “hills” she grew up in. She sang “I Love It,” by Icona Pop and had the judges rethinking their earlier estimation that she’s not a professional singer.
Her personal reveal: A typewriter, which made McCarthy say she was even more sure of her guess, Lauren Conrad. Jeong was convinced it’s Tori Spelling. Nicole Scherzinger reminded everyone of an earlier episode where Unicorn said she’d “lost her sheen,” before saying she thought it might be Denise Richards.
Alien stepped up next, adding to her clues with images of a snake before performing Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.”
Her personal reveal: A police badge from Muncie Indiana, which throws off host Nick Cannon: “The person I thought definitely isn’t the police!”
“I’m thinking one if the Jacksons,” Scherzinger said, with Robin Thicke adding, “La Toya. La Toya is known for the snake,” before Scherzinger threw out another option: Paula Abdul.

Last up was Lion, who said her favorite movie is “The Wizard of Oz,” before adding, “Tick tock, the twister is coming.”
Scherzinger said on an earlier show that she thought Lion was not a professional singer, but tonight, the judges changed their minds after her stunning performance of Sia’s “California Dreamin’.”
Her revealing item? A scrunchie, which Lion said is “a family heirloom.”
McCarthy noted that “Tik Tok” is a Kesha song, and wondered if Lion collaborated with the singer. Thicke guessed she might be Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child after the Lion revealed “being on stage is my destiny.” Scherzinger thought it might be former Spice Girl Melanie Brown because the masked singer also said, “It’s time for me to stop being all sugar and spice.” As for Jeong’s guess: “I got nothing.”
In the end, fans voted to unmask Unicorn.
When the judges gave their final guesses, Thicke thought she might be Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas. McCarthy stuck with Conrad and Scherzinger stayed with her guess of Richards. Jeong kept to his guess of Spelling, to which McCarthy asked, “Could you be making sense right now?”
It turns out, yes, Jeong was making sense. The unmasked Unicorn was indeed Tori Spelling, which came as a surprise to all of the judges, including Jeong.
Before she left, Spelling told Cannon she came on “Masked Singer” because, “This right now, performing in front of people, is my biggest fear in life. … I love singing with my kids and I wanted to show them they can be anything they want to be.”
And the typewriter? It belonged to Spelling’s dad, Aaron Spelling, who died in 2006. “He started every one of his scrips on that, forever,” Spelling said.
Spelling joins unmasked singers comedian Margaret Cho (Poodle), former NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw (Deer), comedian Tommy Chong (Pineapple) and NFL player Antonio Brown (Hippo). Five down, only seven left to go.
