Trump is also slated to host a round of trade talks with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the Japanese prime minister who has taken Trump to golf watch sumo wrestling since the president arrived Saturday.
She survived 17 days lost in Hawaiian wilderness. Time to celebrate
Hundreds of volunteers who aided the search and rescue of Amanda Eller will celebrate Monday at a barbecue bash in Maui. The party reflects the relief and joy expressed by friends and family of Eller, a physical therapist and yoga instructor who walked into a Hawaiian forest on May 8 and was not seen again for more than two weeks. Eller, 35, survived on wild fruit, water, grit and determination. On Friday, searchers in a helicopter spotted her near a creek bed, and she was airlifted to safety about two hours later. Eller suffered a leg fracture and abrasions, was sunburned and hungry but was otherwise in good shape, her family said.
Uber submarine, scUber, will take you to the Great Barrier Reef
Uber is launching a submarine service — aptly named scUber — to a “select number of riders” starting Monday. The company touts the service as the world’s first ride-share submarine, where riders can explore Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. But it may be tough to get a ride: The experience will only be available through June 18, according to a news release. ScUber will cost $2,060, including a one-hour submarine ride and scenic helicopter transfers to and from mainland Queensland. One of the goals — beyond giving people a unique exploration opportunity — is to support the conservation of the Great Barrier Reef, which has been a major concern over the years due to global warming.
